Over the past month, the Coalition been sharing all the incredible news surrounding investments in Minnesota’s transportation infrastructure from the 2023 Legislative Session. In fact, it’s estimated that more than 77 percent of the $9 billion transportation bill is directed to our highways, roads, and bridges. And, more than $2 billion is specifically put aside for repairing and expanding our highways.
And the good news continues! Funding has increased for MnDOT’s Corridors of Commerce program by a whopping $50 million.
Due to new funding and additional changes, the awards for the 2023 Corridors of Commerce projects have been delayed. But, it is anticipated that funding should be allocated in the not-so-distant future.
One thing was made clear in this session. Investment in our state’s transportation infrastructure was made a significant priority, and Minnesota families, businesses, and local economies will be the big winners.
