The I-94 West Corridor Coalition was proud to join the City of Maple Grove, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hennepin County, elected leaders and other supporters to celebrate the completion of the Highway 610 Extension Project. This is a truly historic moment for our region.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held Monday, marked the culmination of more than 50 years of vision, advocacy, and determination to complete this vital connection. This project highlights the power of partnership and perseverance, and we are so grateful for all the work we’ve done with our partners to make it possible. This project will now be responsible for linking communities, strengthening our local economies, and improving transportation safety across the northwest metro.

We were thrilled to celebrate alongside so many champions who helped make this project a reality. The event featured remarks from: Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson, Congresswoman Kelly Morrison, Representative Kristin Bahner, and Representative Kristin Robbins, as well as Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson, MnDOT Deputy Commissioner Jean Wallace, and Met Councilmember Judy Johnson.

Their shared message was clear: the 610 Extension is more than a road. It’s a bridge to future growth and opportunity for our region.
As longtime advocates for this transformative project, the I-94 West Corridor Coalition is honored to have played a part in bringing this vision to life. The Highway 610 Extension stands as a testament to what’s possible when communities work together to invest in the future of Minnesota’s transportation system.
