Yesterday, Governor Tim Walz announced that the State has allocated $78 million to fully fund the I-94 gap project. This funding will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and improve safety along the much-traveled highway.
This important infrastructure project will expand the lanes on I-94 from Monticello to Albertville. This fulfills requests made to complete the capacity expansion program from Clearwater to 610 that the I-94 West Corridor Coalition has been advocating for since 2013.
During the announcement of the Corridors of Commerce grants, Walz said, “We depend on our roads and highways to safely get us to our jobs, education, child care, and businesses. These projects help grow our economy and support our goal of making Minnesota the best state to live, work, and grow up in – no matter where you live.”
